Here are the 8 most important software engineering books to have in your bookshelf
A short post regarding books I have developed an interest in reading within the next year.

Introduction
Reading is known to be a dying art across all generations. After all, why waste time reading arcane, cryptic, and oddly-specific books on niche topics when one can watch a YouTube video explaining exactly what needs to be known or be done? The YouTube video usually does the digging for the golden nuggets of information inside these books, giving more of a reason for those short on time to get just what they need to feel more confident in a particular topic.
However, what most people don't realize is that the information left over from the golden nugget extractions that these YouTube tutorials do can usually enhance the understanding of the information us as engineering readers are chasing. It is for this reason I believe it is still a valuable skill to truly absorb and understand a technical book.
The List of Books
Here is the list of books I believe to be worth buying as a software engineer.

If you want are into graphics books, here are the books I would recommend to read, roughly in order.
